THAT IS RIGHT....WE HAVE PURCHASED FULLY AUTOMATIC TIMING. IT IS A STATE OF THE ART SYSTEM THAT JUST COST US $7400. SO NOW MORE THAN EVER WE NEED THE SUPPORT OF OUR ALUMNI TO PAY FOR THE SYSTEM. WE STARTED OUR ALUMNI DRIVE LAST YEAR AND HEARD FROM SOME PROUD ALUMNI. WE ARE LOOKING FOR MORE OF YOU TO HELP US PAY OFF THIS DEBT. EVEN $5 WOULD HELP US OUT.

THIS SYSTEM WILL MAKE OUR MEETS GO BY FASTER, MAKE THE TIMING COMPLETELY ACCURATE, AND WE WILL NEED FEWER WORKERS BECAUSE OF IT!!!

Alumni Fund Drive

Welcome Alumni and Friends of Bellows Free Academy Track & Field.

BFA has a proud track and field tradition that has seen many improvemnents to the facilities as the years have gone by. From the days at Coote Field with the cinder track, dirt runways and of course the pole vault and high jump pits that were netting with a lot of old foam car seats. From there we went to paved runways, and modern landing pits. We then upgarded to the complex with an all weather track and runways and state of the art landing pits. Now we have improved the complex even more with a newly resurfaced track and an improved jumping area with two sand pits.

It is in this tradition of trying to improve our facilities, to give our athletes the best possible, that we now look to our alumni and friends of BFA Track and Field.

With the best track facility B.F.A. has ever had we are looking to our alumni to help us further our improvements. As you know, we have always prided ourselves on running top quality track meets. We are looking to improve on our ability to do so by installing Fully Automatic Timing (F.A.T.)for this spring. F.A.T. would allow us to run more efficient track meets. It would eliminate human errors in timing, make the meet run faster, and it would also cut the number of officials that we need to host a meet. Seems like it gets harder each year to find officials. A top of the line system cost $24,995.00. A good quality system will cost $13,000.00.

So, we are looking to our alumni and friends of BFA Track and Field, to help us out and give back to the program. We are hoping that your track experince was a positive one and you would like to help make the next generations track experience an even better one. Please consider making a donation to the Alumni F.A.T. Drive. No amount is too small or too large.

We are also asking that you help spread the word to as many track people that you know as possible, other alumni, parents, etc. We would rather someone be notified many times than not at all. Contact them any way you can, facebook, email, phone call, snail mail, etc. Invite them to read this blog.
